Part Time Audio Engineering Training Program (2010)

The above audio engineering training program consists of the following modules:

Basic Principles of Sound
This module covers all the theoretical knowledge required for Audio Engineering.

Includes:

Acoustics, Phase, System Interconnections, Patchbays, Balanced/Un-balanced lines, Phantom Power, Direct Injection, Microphones, Microphone Techniques, Loudspeakers, Loudspeaker connections, Studio Tools (Gates, Compressors,Limiters, De-Essers), Effect (Delay, Reverb, Flanging, Phasing, Chorus, Distortion, Pitch Shifting, Time Stretching, Mixing Consoles

 Learning To Hear
An intense practical module that will not only improve your frequency band recognition, but will also teach you how to make your monitoring environment work for you.

Subtractive Equalization Techniques
Subtractive EQ may look like 'Rocket Science' yet it is extremely easy to do, once the basic principles behind this technique are understood.

Mixing Techniques
(Track layout, Dynamics, Effects, Psychoacoustics)
This module does not only teach you how the above work, but also shows how they are used together in real 'hands on' music productions.

Mastering
Mastering is not about how many Plug-ins or 'gadgets' you have, but simply a Logical Sequence determined by a set of easily recognizable factors.

Sound Design
For Radio, TV, Commercials, Corporate, Film. With our extensive library of projects we can hone the students skills no matter which field of sound design they want to work in.

M.I.D.I and Electronic Music Production
This module provides all the necessary training on how to use M.I.D.I hardware and software for the creation of Electronic Music.

Live Recording
Complete, multiple microphone recordings, from live bands to sitcoms and talk shows.

Each student receives a copy of our Sound Book 1 interactive audio tutorial as well as our new Music and MIDI interactive tutorial for home study (Normal cost of DVD tutorials are R600 each).

Next Part Time audio engineering course

Start date for next Part Time course is the 6th February 2010

Weekend Training Program
Times: Saturdays and Sundays 10 am to 4 pm
Duration: 8 weeks

Evening Training Program
Times: Monday and Wednesday evenings 6 pm to 9 pm (6 hours per week)
Duration: 16 weeks

Cost of either weekend or evenings audio engineering training program: R8,000.00

Deposit to secure place: R4,000.00
Balance of R4,000.00 can be paid off over duration of course.

Should you pay the full amount on registration in advance we will allow a discount of 10%.

NOTE: All training provided is individual 'hands on' in studio training, no group lessons.
