Here the student can select the areas of Pro Audio training they wish to study and we design the appropriate course for them, they can also select the days and training times best suited for them.

These custom training programs are ideal for those wanting to do more than just our short duration part time courses or wish to combine different courses into one training program.

Our custom training programs cover the following:

Audio Engineering/Live Sound (PA Systems) Training: This training program is ideal for those wanting a good, solid foundation in audio and particularly in the Live Sound field.

This training program covers, basic Principles of sound, Acoustics, dynamics, Effects, System Interconnections (balanced line, active passive PA setup etc), Microphones, Microphone Techniques, Loudspeaker Systems, Power Amps and Crossovers), Patch Bays and Inserts, Mixing Consoles. Plus live instrument mixing (using EQ, Dynamics, Effects, Aux Sends, Inserts etc).

Mixing and Mastering

Our Mixing and Mastering training program is an advanced, individual, hands on, in-studio training program that is ideally suited for those wanting to Mix/Master and produce professional audio that the international and local pro audio companies expect, whether it is for Audio/Music Production, Sound Design (Post Production), Live Sound our training program covers them all.

This training program takes 2.5 weeks to complete if the student attends 3 lessons per week.

Traditional Audio Production Training

(1) Basic Audio Engineering/Sound Theory

Skills acquired: A complete understanding of acoustic waves and a thorough theoretical knowledge of how audio equipment works and its uses.

(2) Psycho-acoustics (Theory)

Skills acquired: Thorough understanding of how we perceive sound at different amplitudes, frequency and phase and the ability to recognize any frequency range present in a sound.

(3) Digital Audio (Theory)

Skills acquired: Thorough understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), its advantages and disadvantages. 

(4) Filters/Equalization (Theory)

Skills acquired: Filters and equalizers are the most important tools when shaping sound and this module provides the learner with all theoretical and practical knowledge to select and use the correct filters and equalizers.

(5) Digital Editing and Sound Design (Wave based Audio)

This module teaches the learner how to create sound designs for video, radio and gaming applications. This module is supported by both theory and practical training sessions.

Skill acquired: Ability to create professional sound designs for the audio/video/multimedia industries.

(6) Analog/Digital Audio Recording, Mixing and Mastering. (Practical)

This module takes the learner thru all aspects of both analog and digital recording, mixing and mastering processes with hands on, in-studio training.

Skills acquired: The ability to record, mix, master and produce audio at a professional level. 

This training program takes 3 months to complete if the student attends 3 lessons per week.

The electronics Module covers all basic electronic theory, principles and techniques and also teaches students to create their own electronic circuits using Spice Electronic Simulation Software.
Spice electronic software turns the student’s PC into a complete electronics breadboard without the need to buy electronic components. Once they have designed their own circuits they then create Printed Circuit boards using advanced CAD software.

We have a fully equipped electronics lab stocked with all basic electronic components, breadboards etc for those who wish to take their electronic skills further. Our student's are also taught how to program micro-controllers (Arduino) especially for audio hardware applications.

This module teaches the student basic electronics and how to interface their software to the real world using micro controllers (Arduino, Raspberry PI etc). Our electronics program uses Spice based software which enables the students to design their own hardware on the Pc where they can run the computer simulation of their electronic circuit before building the real hardware.

Skills acquired: Solid foundation in basic electronics, micro-controllers (programming and operation) and basic robotics.

Basic Video Editing and Video Production

Our basic Video Editing and Production training teaches the student how to Edit and Produce video for multi-media content (YouTube, Facebook, etc) with hands on, practical training. so, if you are looking at combining audio and video this is a value added feature to our Audio Tech training program.

Skills Acquired:

1. Video formats and Codecs
2. Video editing and effects (Transitions, Green Screen, Editing for music videos, etc.)
3. Video Production (how to create HD video for the multi-media productions)
4. Packaging video and audio synchronization for final video production.

Games Sound and Basic Animation

This section of our Audio Tech training program teaches the student how to code their own games and animations and apply sound design to their games and animations.

1. How to write computer code for games and animations
2. How to integrate graphics and audio into games and animations
3. Production concepts and techniques for creating your own games and animations

Procedural Audio

Our Procedural Audio training program is broken into two main subjects, Audio Software Development and Designing Sound.

1. Audio Software Development

The Audio Software Development module teaches the student how to code their own audio application, from creating or modeling specific audio equipment to designing complete audio mixers, sequencers, samplers, MIDI applications, synthesizers equalizers, dynamics, effects etc.

The above audio software development module is supported by practical coding projects where the student can either create their own audio software/applications or model analog audio equipment. Below are just a few audio coding examples that the students will learn to code.

2. Designing Sound

Designing Sound module teaches the student how to create sounds using synthesis, this process is called Procedural Audio (on-demand audio) and is at the forefront of audio technology today especially in the development of audio for the mobile (smartphones, tablets etc.) and audio for the gaming industries.

A recorded sound (wave file) can only be altered slightly by equalization, pitch shifting, time stretching, whereas a synthesized sound can be completely altered as each element that makes up a sound can be independently altered.

The above designing sound program includes practical sound design projects that include making :

  1. Artificial Sounds (phone Tones, Ring Tones, DTMF Tones, Alarm Generators, Police sirens, etc.)
  2. Idiophonics (Telephone bell, Bouncing, rolling, creaking, boing, etc)
  3. Nature (Fire, Bubbles, running water, water pouring, rain, electricity, thunder, wind, etc)
  4. Machines (Switches, clocks, motors, cars, fans, jet engines, helicopters, etc)
  5. Life forms (Footsteps, Insects, birds, mammals, etc)
  6. Mayhem (Guns, Explosions, rockets and rocket launchers, etc)
  7. Science Fiction (Transporter, androids, pod racers, red alerts, X wing and Tie fighters, battle cruisers, alien sounds and voices, etc)
  8. Musical Sounds (Synths, drum sounds, acoustic instrument sounds, etc)

Skills acquired: The student learns to recognize and identify all elements that make up a sound and have the ability to re-create the sound by using Procedural Audio techniques. This sound creation also extends into the imaginary where the sound designer is required to create sounds that do not exist, especially in the Sci fi movie industry and gamming industries. Here procedural audio is the best solution.

Graphic Environment for Multi-Media

This module teaches the student how to make video and motion graphic processing software such as video editors, video effect generators which can be combined with motion 2D and 3D Geo objects and particle systems all controlled and triggered with audio signals.

3. Geos and Objects
4. 2D and 3D Motion
4. Lighting: World and Local Lighting
5. Particle Systems

Skills acquired: Here the student learns how to take full control over their video and graphics environment and how to create custom software applications for the processing of video and motion graphics
